May Social Media Breakfast — Time relativity and social media

This May, we will have an interactive panel with a senior executive and a young professional from two very well known agencies in the DC area (speakers will be announced soon!). Our panelists will exchange their perspectives on the changing landscape of communications, share their thoughts on what current and aspiring professionals need to do to thrive in the industry, and show us that as long as you are willing to learn and adjust, time and age are relative with social media.

Join us at Busboys and Poets (14th and V — U Street Metro) on WEDNESDAY, May 19, 2010 at 8:30am (NOTE DAY OF THE WEEK AND TIME CHANGE).

And that’s not all! Announcing a special partnership with Busboys and Poets – now the OFFICIAL venue of Social Media Breakfast DC!

We are very proud to announce that Busboys and Poets and Social Media Breakfast DC are partnering to make breakfast even more enjoyable, affordable, and better in as many ways as possible. Now that we have a home (with very comfy furniture and great food I might add), we can make ourselves comfortable and put on events that reflect the curious and all-inclusive nature of the social media community and the creative and diverse nature of our hosts.

This really could not have been a better match. You’ll understand why when you read the mission of Busboys and Poets posted below… We are THRILLED.

Busboys and Poets is a restaurant, bookstore, fair trade market and gathering place where people can discuss issues of social justice and peace. Each Busboys and Poets location should enhance the community — allowing us to bring together a diverse clientele reflective of the surrounding neighborhoods. Busboys and Poets creates an environment where shared conversations over food and drink allow the progressive, artistic and literary communities to dialogue, educate and interact. Follow them on Twitter and declare your love on Facebook (formerly known as “becoming a fan”).

Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…

Want to get more involved?

Leave a comment, send an email to socialmediaclubdc [at] gmail [dot] com, or send a tweet to @smcdc using the #SMBDC if you wish to be a “Head of Table” at any of our breakfast events. Essentially, you will be volunteering to ignite conversation at your table and let others pick your brain during the Breakfast. And don’t worry, we don’t mean this literally.

And as always, If you or your company are interested in sponsoring any one of our monthly breakfast events, please let us know. Email us at socialmediaclubDC [at] gmail [dot] com or send a tweet to @smcdc. Thank you in advance!
